2025 Year In Review

Wow, 2025 was an incredible year for CASA! Our PAWS program far exceeded expectations for its inaugural year, and it garnered some unexpected opportunities. As anticipated, we released three additional children’s educational books in 2025. Two Frisky Kittens: How to Count High Real Quick, I Like Kibble and So Much More, and I Lost My Cat! Now What?

Robin, our author turned speaker, had the opportunity to educate over 9,000 kids in Middle TN schools in thirteen counties about proper animal care and bite prevention. That was a remarkable number for her first year of building a reputation with schools in this area. Thanks to generous grants and donations, we were able to distribute 978 complimentary books to schools and libraries in Middle TN and East TN. We also received an extraordinarily generous grant at year-end that will allow us to put books into all schools in East & West TN! Thank you Leslie L. Alexander Foundation for your incredible support!

Additionally, we received requests to license Robin’s school presentations, which was an unexpected bonus. We also had a few out-of-state shelters purchase large quantities of our books to distribute in their areas, and one group even received a grant to use for the purchase of our books. We love to see the word spread! We have another four titles slated to release this year, and we have a couple other exciting programs in the works for PAWS.

Our friends at Local on 2 invited us back on the show to talk about PAWS and to receive a donation from Bart Durham Injury Law!

Transport experienced a second growth year, with a total of 2,566 lives saved in 2025. We even added some interesting new species to our transport roster this year, including a sulcata tortoise, a gecko and a cockatiel! The animals transported this past year largely came from 40 TN shelters and rescues in 32 counties. We wrapped up the year with a LTD total of 11,744 animals transported since our inception in April 2021.

We had two really neat opportunities for our transport program as well. In July, NHRA drag race car driver Ida Zetterström joined us for a health certificate vetting day! In addition to being a wonderful lady, she brought much needed exposure to CASA via her social media and some Fox Sports and Fox News segments.

In September, we were chosen by The Mutt Dog for a special visit and spotlight which included a fundraising custom t-shirt in collaboration with Kittenish, a health certificate vetting day/transport sponsored by Ollie with special guests from The Mutt Dog, Ollie and retired football player Eric Decker, and a subsequent fundraising event hosted by The Mutt Dog and Kittenish in Noble Park in Nashville. We had such a blast and are so grateful for the support of these amazing organizations.

We even had a former Maury County shelter transport dog make it to the silver screen in the 2025 blockbuster Superman movie!

Sparrow headed for her movie debut!

Our clinic experienced some upheaval in the fourth quarter with some unexpected changes to vet availability, so they had to pivot to work around any available days that our crew of vets could provide. This meant less days operating each month, which saw an overall decrease to just under 3,000 spay/neuter surgeries performed in 2025. We still celebrated a big milestone in December though! We crossed over 10,000 surgeries performed in just under four years. Congratulations to our clinic team for serving so many animals in Maury County and beyond since we started operating in February 2022!

We are still working on our Capital Campaign goal to purchase a larger facility with separate areas to operate our clinic and transport hub. All proceeds from our CASA PAWS books will also help fund our new building, and we were just awarded a generous grant from Tito’s to go towards our purchase!

Thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts in 2025. We’re so excited for you to see what we have in store for 2026!
